Family Weekend
Presented by Gendersphere, parent organization of Camp Lilac.

This is a chance for families with trans and gender diverse (TGD) children ages 6-12 to gather and be together in a welcoming, affirming, and fun environment!

  • TGD Children will have the opportunity to connect with peers with whom they can identify and have fun! (and have some serious talk too…)

  • Adults will have the opportunity to connect with the adults of other trans and gender diverse children (facilitated and spontaneous conversation)

  • Siblings will have the opportunity to connect with other siblings of trans and gender diverse children.

Everyone will have the opportunity to play games, make music and art, do some writing, do some projects, talk, and DRINK HOT COCOA TOGETHER!

Arrive: Friday, Dec 29th @ 5pm
Depart: Sunday, Dec 31st @ 3pm

Location:

West Central Ohio, about an hour outside of Columbus.

The exact location will be released following registration.

Asked Questions

How much does Family Weekend cost?

Family Weekend costs $100 per family member ($400 cap per family regardless of number of participants per family). This includes room, board, snacks, supplies, and fun! (Not to mention professional staff to help facilitate). Financial aid may be available.

What are the sleeping arrangements like?

Families will be housed together. All housing is indoors and dormitory-style.

Who will be at camp?

12 TGD youth (6 aged 6-9 and 6 aged 10-12) and their families, Camp Lilac staff members, and staff of our host location.

Is Camp Lilac religiously affiliated?

While we honor all religions practiced by members of our community, we are not connected with any religion as an organization. We are happy to provide space and time for observance of any ritual by any attendee.

What COVID-19 precautions are being taken?

All attendees must be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 or have a valid medical exemption. Attendees must complete COVID-19 rapid testing in the day leading up to arrival. Free rapid tests can be obtained here.
